People wearing masks and traditional costumes joined colorful processions in the country's capital, Dhaka, on Sunday to celebrate the Bengali New Year.
Students from Dhaka University have been coordinating the city's New Year's processions for 30 years.
In Bangladesh, the first day of the Bengali New Year, is a national holiday.
Rural Bengali lifestyles were showcased at the event, which staged traditional folk songs and plays.
The Bengali New Year takes place every year in mid-April, and coincides with a number of New Year celebrations on the Indian subcontinent.
