The spiky fruit durian, known for its pungent smell and gooey flesh, may turn some people away.
But it has won over the hearts of many, like those who are gathering at the CentralWorld Square in Bangkok for their love of durian, also known as the "king of fruit".
The organizers said the festival will promote tourism and Thai fruits, as well as support integrated large-scale farming systems and high-quality durian producers.
The event lasts until April 25th, with over 130,000 visitors expected to join in the festival.
