100 Women Street Gallery in Iraq

The event of the "100 women street gallery" has been held in the Erbil Citadel, Iraq.
It featured a hundred photos composing a "street gallery" and showed how women can innovate, create and improve the world and society.
The event was held to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of 100 women.
"I think that it's very important that we have this kind of events, gatherings, awareness.  I know by the traditions and culture that we have a lot of girls and women who are sitting home. And they don't know who to contact, where to go. I mean, they have hopes, they have dreams!"
"It's very important for feminine empowerment. It's important because if you like it or not, we live in a male dominated society. So the little support for women, any support, by a word, by action, by an event like this, means a lot. Because through events like this you can empower and inspire other women. So indeed it is important, and also we could be examples for other women in the region and Iraq."
The project featured photographs and descriptions of the hundred women, and a reception to support local female-led startups and businesses.
"The next step is to make the database bigger, of these incredible women. We want to celebrate them all around the world. And we start to go to universities with the pictures, and then online we'll also keep promoting this."
