Mexico's Deputy Secretary of Foreign Trade has said the country is looking to China as an emerging partner for investment in different industries.

Luz Maria de la Mora said the Mexican government is searching for ways to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The deputy secretary pointed out that once the Mexico-United States-Canada Treaty comes into force, China can become a major investor in the country.

"It is very likely that China's investment will come to Mexico, settle in Mexico, and develop products in Mexico.”

She said due to the complementary relationship between Mexico and China, possibilities for investment will be widely available, and could even extend to some industries not yet thought of.
