New immersive experience at Cannes Film Festival

The 72nd Cannes Film Festival is underway in France.  
 
This year, a new immersive program, Cannes XR joins the festival. 
 
Cannes XR is a demo space full of AR and VR experiences. 
 
Let's take a look at how exhibitors from over 20 countries are showcasing their location-based entertainment operators.

"Here we are at Cannes XR, an area dedicated to immersive story-telling and XR entertainment industry, there are nearly 200 latest AR and VR experiences presented here, let's try some of them."
During the six-day event, the new experience will bring together artists, producers and industry players to discuss financing, production and distribution of XR projects and works.
 
About 500 XR studios are invited to the event, to discuss new methods of story-telling, which utilize XR technologies.

"XR technology is a new way to tell stories, and since the Cannes Film Festival is dedicated to narratives, we thought that it is very important this year to open a new section dedicated to people who would like to tell stories using these new technologies, whether it could be AR, augmented reality or virtual reality."
 
Cannes XR program also highlights Asia.
 
At the demo space dedicated to China at Cannes XR, exiting VR experiences are offered to visitors.

"At China XR, you can travel back in time to ancient China, or, if you dare, take an adventure with dinosaurs by wearing this VR headset." 
 
The 4K VR headset creates immersive experiences which allow people to better understand Chinese history and culture.

"And in China for instance, people are more educated to these habits, to go to the arcade and you know to put the headset on and consume some contents, also you have a lot of consumers on your market and people are used to it, so for sure this is an opportunity for anybody on earth who wants to distribute content, China is for sure one of the top markets for them."
