Chinese expatriates in Greece have taken the initiative to clean up a popular beach on the southern coast of Athens.

Dozens of members of the Chinese community, of all ages and professions, on Sunday flocked to the beach to pick up rubbish left behind by swimmers or carried along by the wind.

Their main slogan is "be part of something bigger than yourself: volunteerism."
