The land-sea route will enable goods from a number of places, including North America, Britain, and Ireland, to travel through Rotterdam and the Dutch city of Tilburg to Chengdu in China and vice versa.

It will expand the coverage and capacity of the China-Europe railway.
The economic counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands said the route will also bring new trade opportunities to countries along the Belt and Road.
This year also marks the three year anniversary of a cargo express line between Tilburg and Chengdu. The line's 750th express train departed from Tilburg towards China to commemorate the event.
