China e-commerce trade hits 31.63 trln yuan in 2018

 A report on China's e-commerce development shows the country's e-commerce trade volume reached 31.63 trillion yuan, or about 4.58 trillion U.S. dollars last year.

 
The report was released at the ongoing China International Big Data Industry Expo 2019.
 
According to the report, over 1.3 trillion U.S. dollars of online retail sales was made in 2018.
 
Online payment exceeded 28 trillion U.S. dollars last year.
 
More than 50 billion packages were delivered last year.
 
The total import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce reached about 19.5 billion U.S. dollars.
 
By the end of last year, the number of people working in e-commerce reached 47 million.
 
Analysts said the development of e-commerce has influenced both production and consumption, while promoting the development of agriculture and the service sector.
