Ekrem Imamoglu, the candidate for the main opposition, the Republican People's Party (CHP), won the Istanbul mayorship again on Sunday -- this time with a wide margin.

According to the state-run Anadolu Agency, unofficial preliminary result showed Imamoglu garnered 54.03 percent of the votes, while his rival, Binali Yildirim from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), scored 45.09 percent.
Imamoglu beat Yildirim by a margin of some 13,000 votes in the first election on March 31st, when the country held local elections.
But the result was later annulled by the Supreme Election Board over the AKP's claims of irregularities.
