British students visit Confucius' hometown

 A group of 118 British middle school students who are learning Mandarin took the trip on Thursday.

They saw cultural relics of the Confucius Family Mansion at the Confucius Museum, and attended a lecture on Chinese incense at an experience center of the Confucius Institute Headquarters.

"It is my first time to come to China and I'm very excited. China is a great country; it has a long history. I like Chinese food, especially hot pot."
The students are part of a group of over 800 British teenagers attending a summer camp in China sponsored by the Mandarin Excellence Program.
According to a survey by British Council,Mandarin has been identified as one of the most important languages for the United Kingdom's future prosperity.
