Pride Parade passes through Prague

Added On August 12, 2019

The march was the culmination of the Czech Republic's 9th Prague Pride festival.
Allies of the country's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community (LGBT) set off on Saturday in traditional rainbow colors for a march through the capital's city center.
Security was supervised by dozens of police officers. The march also required temporary restrictions on traffic.
Opponents of the parade also came out on Saturday, carrying flags and banners that referred to Jesus Christ and warned participants to fear God's wrath.
Czech law allows gay people to officially register their partnerships but does not allow them to get married.
