China awards scholarships to 185 Cambodian students

China's Ambassador to Cambodia and Cambodia's Secretary of State for Education, Youth and Sports jointly presented the scholarships during a ceremony on Monday at the Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh.
The grants will help 185 bachelor's, master's, and doctorate students pursue degrees at various Chinese universities during the 2019-2020 academic year.
China's Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian said China always supports Cambodian efforts to develop its human resources, which is a key factor for socio-economic growth.
Cambodia's Secretary of State for Education York Ngoy expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for the scholarships and for helping to develop human capital in Cambodia.
To date, more than 3,000 Cambodian students have received scholarships from the Chinese government.
Since returning from China, many have served in key positions in governmental institutions, universities and enterprises or have founded their own companies.
