Zdzislaw Goralczyk had spent 24 years in China.
He began to study mandarin at Peking University in 1953 and served as the Polish ambassador to China from 1994 to 1999.
ZDZISLAW GORALCZYK, Former Polish ambassador to China:
"I strongly admire China's development. At the time when the People's Republic of China was founded, China was among one of the poorest countries in the world. But now it's heading for the forefront. No one else can make this accomplishment."
After Goralczyk's return to Poland, he served as advisor to one Polish president and two prime ministers. After his retirement, he became president of the Polish-Chinese Friendship Association, which aims to promote bilateral friendship.
Goralczyk hopes that relations between the two countries and the two peoples will continue to enjoy smooth development.
"I've been served for the Poland-China relationship since my twenties as a student and later as a diplomat. I'm willing to continue to work for the Poland-China relations. In Poland, nobody has devoted to the building of diplomatic bilateral relationship like me. I've worked for it for a lifetime, entire life! Ever since I studied in China, I have great affection for the country. I love China not merely because I became an ambassador. As long as I live, I’ll not change my love for China."
