Dongxing is a city in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, separated from Vietnam by a narrow river.
For both Chinese and Vietnamese people who live or work there, going for midnight snacks is a way to relieve stress.

"My mom comes from Vietnam. She came to China at the age of 16. She opened this restaurant in 2007. We have many Vietnamese specialties here, like Vietnamese spring rolls and Trichosanthes chicken rice noodles."

"The restaurant is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We have a lot of Vietnamese customers here.  Many Vietnamese come here to work as the two countries share a good relationship."
