In the U.S. city of Houston, hundreds of Overseas Chinese and their American friends have attended a Chinese National Day celebration.

On Friday night, over 1,200 people marveled at Chinese acrobatics and Chinese operas celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

The lively event, organized by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, also featured traditional Chinese music.

According to the head of the art troupe, the show aims to promote traditional Chinese culture and strengthen ties among overseas Chinese.
