European Commission faces delay

The next European Commission might not take office at the start of next month. As the European Parliament rejected a French commissioner nominee and two other nominees earlier in the hearing process
European lawmakers rejected the French Sylvie Goulard, citing a work ethics scandal.
European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen says in a written statement, the nominations for Hungary, Romania and France are still open.
But it could take some time for all nominees to be vetted by Ursula, approved by the European Parliament and navigate other processes before they can assume their new posts.
