Huawei European innovation day held in Paris

Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei has reunited 400 major players in European technological innovation in Paris at its annual European Innovation Day.
The event featured panel discussions with various startup entrepreneurs and leaders under the theme of "Innovate for a Digital Europe."
Speaking at a news conference, Huawei's leaders called on European leaders to strengthen Europe's leadership in innovation.
Huawei's executives said Huawei has put great importance on the development of 5G in the region, reiterating that a focus on information and communications technology, or ICT, would enhance industries' competitiveness.

"Huawei's 5G now has 60 commercial contracts worldwide, 32 of which are in Europe, including in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, etc., so our 5G has also been widely recognized by European operators."
Huawei registered a favorable growth rate in the first three quarters of 2019, which tallied at 24.4 percent.

"In order to further dispel the concerns of operators, governments and partners, we have set up network security testing centers and transparency centers in the U.K., Bonn and Brussels to make sure our network is secure.”
According to its website, Huawei invested 15 billion U.S. dollars in research and development in 2018. The group plans to allot another 100 billion U.S. dollars in the field in the next five years.
Monday's discussions took place ahead of the Huawei Eco-Connect forum, which aims to establish an open, innovative and collaborative ICT ecosystem for the cloud era.
