N China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
The annual migration of birds between their breeding homes and nonbreeding grounds is underway.
A huge variety of birds have taken a break in their southward journey, and are resting at the Tumuji National Nature Reserve in Inner Mongolia.
Over 300 bird species have been found at the nature reserve.
13 of these species are under first-class protection.
To better protect the birds, monitoring and patrol work are being greatly strengthened at the reserve.
