Tusk: Brexit will leave UK as "second-rate player"

European Council President Donald Tusk says UK will be a "second-rate player" once it leaves the European Union.

In his farewell address at the College of Europe in Bruges, Tusk suggested Brexit would be "the real end of the British Empire".

He said Brexiteers who believe leaving the European Union makes the UK global again are wrong.

The EU Council president will step down from his post on Dec. 1, handing over the post to former Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel.
