Ancient Mummies Found in Egyptian Cemetery

Dozens of ancient mummies and statues of animals have been discovered near Egypt's capital, Cairo. Lifestyles has the story. The ancient objects were found inside a cache at Saqqara necropolis. The relics, which date back some 2,700 years, include mummified lion cubs, cats, crocodiles and mongooses. Archaeologists also found two small scarabs, three crocodile statues with crocodile mummies inside as well as eight colorful clay masks and dozens of amulets and pots. It was the third time in 18 months that the ministry announced a new archaeological discovery from the site.
