China condemns US signing hk-related act into law

 China has firmly opposed and strongly condemned the U.S. signing of the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 into law.

According to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, The move is a serious interference in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs and in violation of the international law and basic norms governing international relations. It is a gross hegemonic move.
 
 
 
The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of China's State Council also strongly condemned the signing of the so-called Act into law by the United States.
 
 
 
The office said in a statement, The U.S. side signed it into law regardless of strong opposition from the Chinese side, which is a blatant interference in China's internal affairs and severe violation of international laws and the basic norms governing international relations.
 
The statement said The act, denounced by all Chinese, including Hong Kong people, is imbued with prejudice and arrogance, and treats Hong Kong with intimidation and threats. It added that The act openly shelters those attempting to disrupt Hong Kong and antagonize China.
 
It said The Chinese government is determined to defend national sovereignty, security, and development interests, implement the "one country, two systems" principle, and stand against any external interference in Hong Kong affairs.
 
It said The future of Hong Kong has always been in the hands of the Chinese people with Hong Kong compatriots included, and no force can stop the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
 
 
 
The liaison office of the Chinese central government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region issued a statement on Thursday, expressing the utmost indignation and condemnation against the U.S. move.
 
 
 
The statement warned that The Chinese side will take effective countermeasures and all the consequences will be borne by the U.S. side.
 
It said We will continue to firmly implement the "one country, two systems" principle, support the HKSAR chief executive in leading the HKSAR government to govern in accordance with the law, support Hong Kong police in law enforcement, and support Hong Kong judicial agencies in punishing violent criminals in accordance with the law.
 
The statement also stressed that Any tricks that attempt to undermine Hong Kong's prosperity and stability and hinder China's development will never work.
 
 
 
And the Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region strongly condemned and firmly opposed the signing.
 
 
 
The office said in a statement that The act confounds right with wrong and is an epitome of gangster logic. Its aim is to condone violent crime, destruct Hong Kong and the 'one country, two systems,' and prevent Chinese people from realizing the great rejuvenation of the nation.
 
The office stressed that Chinese people, including Hong Kong compatriots, will never accept it, nor will the international community.
