The U.S. House Judiciary Committee has released a report, explaining the constitutional grounds for impeaching President Donald Trump.
World News has the story.
The report addressed legal questions about the impeachment process and rebutted false claims about impeachment.
Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jerry Nadler tweeted that Trump "abused his power, betrayed our national security and corrupted our elections, all for personal gain."
Trump has called the impeachment proceeding a continuation of the Russia probe, a "total hoax" and a "witch hunt."
He also claims that "nothing came out" of his July phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
House Democrats are looking into whether Trump abused his office by pressuring Zelensky into launching investigations that could benefit him politically.
A simple majority of the House can impeach Trump by approving an article of impeachment recommended by the Judiciary Committee.
