Spring festival celebrations

Spring Festival celebrations have started kicking off around the world. Today we'll take you to the U.S., Zambia and Tunisia for a look at some exciting cultural activities.

A grand Spring Festival gala was held during the weekend in Houston, Texas of the United States.
The "2020 Embracing Spring" evening show was the largest of its kind in the city. Local artists entertained guests with dancing, Peking Opera, traditional Chinese music and popular Chinese and American songs. 
More than 1,000 people watched the show.
The Chinese Embassy in Zambia celebrated the upcoming Spring Festival with a panoramic display of Chinese culture.
The activities include exhibitions about Chinese food and Chinese enterprises as well as a China-Zambia Cultural and Art Exhibition.

"The temple fair of Chinese Spring Festival in Lusaka has been held for 8 years since it was held for the first time in 2013. It has become not only a big cultural event for the Chinese nationals in Zambia to celebrate the Spring Festival, but also a very good platform for the Zambian people to learn about the Chinese culture also to conduct cultural exchanges for better and deeper understanding of each other."
Zambia's Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo commemorated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and congratulated China on its economic success.
The Chinese Embassy in Tunisia held a cultural show on Sunday to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Tunis, capital of Tunisia.
The show provided the audience with a visual feast of traditional Chinese operas, instrument solos, magic shows and acrobatics.
The performances were broadcast live on Tunisian state television as both countries mark the 56th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
The Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on Jan. 25 this year.
