Now let's have a look at how Volkswagen Automatic Transmission resumed production in north China's Tianjin amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Co. LTD. is the only Volkswagen manufacturer of medium and high-end transmission in China, with 155 upstream and downstream suppliers nationwide.
The outbreak of COVID-19 disturbed the production plan, leaving the central management in Germany worried as to when they would be able to resume production.

"Although we had returned to Tianjin, we had to hold video conferences to learn latest progress. We were not sure that if operation resumption would be on schedule and whether anti-epidemic measures were efficient."
The Tianjin Economic Development Area government decided to step in and lend a helping hand.
The local government arranged shuttle bus to and from the factory, checked every employee's temperature before getting inside, set up a 1.5-meter safety distance away from each other and asked workers to wear face masks correctly throughout the day.
Under the collective efforts, over 200 local employees and over 1,000 out-of-town employees have returned to factories.
The German manager felt relieved to see China take strong anti-epidemic measures to assist with orderly production.
