Nomination for HKSAR Legislative Council General Election starts

The nomination period for the 2020 Legislative Council General Election in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has started and runs until July 31. The Legislative Council (LegCo) General Election will be held on Sept. 6. A total of 70 members, 35 from geographical constituencies and 35 from functional constituencies, will be returned. According to the Registration and Electoral Office, the newly issued final register for the geographical constituencies has more than 4.46 million electors who are eligible to vote in the 2020 LegCo General Election. The final register for the District Council (second) functional constituency contains more than 4.19 million electors. For the functional constituencies other than the District Council (second) functional constituency, over 250,000 electors are listed in the final register.
