Dozens killed in Beirut blasts

The blasts rocked the Port of Beirut at around 6:10 p.m. local time, shaking buildings all over the city while causing massive casualties and damages. The number of casualties is expected to rise as the counting continues. The causes of the blasts remained unknown, but Lebanese Interior Minister said that the explosive chemicals stored at the port may have caused the explosions. The tragedy has dealt a further blow to the country already plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic and an economic crisis. Many countries in the region, including Iran, Turkey, Egypt and Palestine, have expressed solidarity and sympathy with Lebanon.
