Danish economist on China-Denmark trade

The growth of China's economy is important for Danish companies. That's according to the chief economist at the Confederation of Danish Industry just ahead the upcoming China International Import Expo.

Allen Sorensen says that the Chinese market is growing faster than Denmark's traditional export markets in Europe and the United States.

He says China has become Denmark's sixth largest export market with imports of Danish goods and services, primarily pork and medicine, reaching 11 billion U.S. dollars last year.

In 2020, Danish exports of meat products to China have more than doubled. And this year, China's import trade show has drawn the largest-ever representation of Danish food companies with its untapped market potential.
