SOUNDBITE (English): B.R. DEEPAK, Professor, Jawaharlal Nehru University
"I think SCO has come up very well, and it has become a sort of a model as far as multilateralism is concerned. And I think more importantly what we see, it has emphasized unity and mutual trust, which is extremely important. It has strengthened the foundation of peace and security, which of course you know is common or shared security for every member or the region. And I think another important aspect, it has become a sort of like a powerful engine to achieve common development and common prosperity in the region."
The 20th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO will be hosted via video link by Russia on Tuesday.
