British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Thursday announced the country's largest military investment in 30 years.

News Hour has the details.
Johnson announced an extra 16.5 billion pounds, or about 21.9 billion U.S. dollars, in defence spending over next four years.
BBC said a 16.5 billion over four years is about a 10 percent yearly increase.
Johnson also announced that another 1.5 billion pounds, or about 2.0 billion dollars investment will be used in military research and development.
Britain will establish a new center dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and a new Space Command capable of launching the country's first rocket in 2022.
In a statement released earlier, 10 Downing Street said the new investment will cement Britain's position as the largest defence spender in Europe and the second largest in NATO.
