U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, who is set to preside over the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump in the Senate, was taken to a hospital for observation on Tuesday evening  after not feeling well.

His spokesman said in a written statement the senator had not been feeling well.
The 80-year-old Democrat is set to preside over the impeachment trial on the week of February 8.
Leahy is the president pro tempore of the Senate, which puts him third in line of presidential succession.
The Democrats-controlled House voted to impeach Trump over "incitement of insurrection" on January 13, making him the first president to be impeached twice.
However, most Republican senators on Tuesday voted for a motion saying the impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump is unconstitutional because Trump is no longer in office, making the prospect for Democrats to garner enough votes to convict Trump dimming.
