China's domestic tourist trips surge during holiday

 China saw more than 89 million domestic tourist trips during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, up by 94.1 percent from last year.

According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, tourism revenue reached about 4.6 billion U.S. dollars, up by 139.7 percent from last year.
Separate data from the Ministry of Transport showed that total passenger trips made during the holiday are expected to reach 124 million.
The country's railway sector will likely handle over 31.6 million passenger trips, up by 58.1 percent year on year.
While the civil aviation sector is expected to see 3.7 million passenger trips, up by 40.1 percent from a year earlier.
The Dragon Boat Festival holiday lasts from June twelfth to fourteenth this year.
