The Tokyo 2020 Olympic organizers confirmed on Saturday that the first positive COVID-19 case has been identified in the athletes' village of Tokyo Olympics Games.

Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto told a press conference that the infected person received a negative result at the airport but tested positive during a screening test in the village.
From July 1 to 16, 15 positive cases had been reported among the overseas arrivals related to the Games.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach said this is a very low rate and he noted that the cases were immediately isolated, so that they would not pose any risk to other participants and Japanese public.
